Carnegie Slate Camp
Carnegie Slate Camps are in-person trainings that are held across the country throughout the year. Each Slate Camp will cover key modules used within Slate, based on the specific theme of that event. During the program, you can expect to develop a solid foundation and understanding of each topic through the execution of trainings and workshops.
Date: Tuesday, June 18, 2024 - Wednesday, June 19, 2024 Time: 12:30 pm - 12:30 pm Central Time Location: Convene | 311 W Monroe St, Chicago, IL 60606-4659 Level: Intermediate to Advanced
Held prior to the 2024 Technolutions' Slate Summit, this program will be held as half day sessions on Tuesday, June 18 and Wednesday, June 19. On Tuesday, our team will cover queries, building from a strong foundation of best practices into more complex querying by utilizing subqueries. During Wednesday's session, we will cover the Portals module. Whether you are new to Portals or a more veteran user, we will have an option for both as we will be running a beginner session and advanced session concurrently.
Participants can choose to attend one of the half days or the full program. Registration is $300 per individual for a half day session or $500 for the full program. Registrations will be refundable until June 4, after which registration can be transferred to another institutional attendee.
Tiny Trainings are two-hour virtual trainings that cover a range of timely Slate features. Back by popular demand from Slate Summit! The philosophy is simple: A Slate database and website created with people with disabilities in mind will benefit everyone. We promise that anyone can do this work and that you will leave with more than a dozen concrete takeaways. Registration is $100 per person, with payment due at time of registration. This event is refundable until October 8, 2024, after which we will no longer accept refunds.
Date: Thursday, December 12, 2024 Time: 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm Eastern Time Location: Virtual Level: Intermediate to Advanced
In this intermediate- to advanced-level session, we'll do a deep dive into something tangential to many aspects of Slate: coding in CSS. Learn ways to maximize your coding skills within your database in portals and more. We'll share both general CSS tips as well as work directly in Slate to put these skills into practice. Coding background is certainly helpful, but anyone with a little curiosity and desire to learn is welcome! Registration is $100 per person, with payment due at time of registration. This event is refundable until December 5, 2024, after which we will no longer accept refunds.
